RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ DEPARTMENT
AMENDMENT TO THE ADHOC RULES RELATING TO THE TEMPORARY POST OF ASSISTANT ENGINEER IN THE TAMIL NADU PANCHAYAT DEVELOPMENT SERVICE.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to adhoc rules for the temporary post of Assistant Engineer in the Rural Development Department published with the Rural Development Department, Notifi cation No.SRO-B-63/2000 at pages 75-77 of Part III—Section 1(b) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated the 24th May 2000.
2. The amendment hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 24-02-2014.

In the said Rules, for rule 5A, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:–
"5-A. – The approved list of candidates who have acquired B.E. degree in Civil Engineering or passed in Sections A and B Examinations (Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers-AMIE) conducted by the Institutions of Engineers (India) for appointment by recruitment by transfer shall be prepared with reference to the date of joining as Overseer/Junior Draughting Offi cer in Rural Development Department".
