REcRUITMENT RULES FOR THE POST OFJUNIOR ENGINEER (MEcHANIcAL) JUNIOR ENGINEER
(ELEcTRIAL) (cLASS III)
Amendment to the Schedule II of Tuticorin Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion
Regulations, 2017.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (i) of Section 124, read with sub-section (1)(a) of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963) the Board of Trustees V.O. chidambaranar Port Trust hereby approves the revised manner of recruitment (Recruitment Rules) for class-III posts under Regulation 5 of Tuticorin Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2008 as set out in the Schedule annexed to this Notification.
2. The said Recruitment Rules shall come into effect from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
Schedule
(1) In the said Schedule under Regulations, in the Recruitment Rules for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical), (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Department), (Sl.No.90), the provisions under column No. 8 shall be substituted by the following:-
Essential:
(i) Degree in Mechanical Engineering of a recognised University or its equivalent (OR)
(ii) Diploma In Mechanical Engineering of a recognised Institution with three years post qualification experience in the relevant field of Mechanical Engineering.
The Provisions under column No. 9 shall be substituted by the following
(a) Age : No
(b) Qualifications : Yes
(c) Experience : No.
The provisions under column No.12 shall be substituted by the following—
Promotion:
Employees (except common categories viz Lower Division clerk, Upper Division clerk, Senior Assistant, Peon etc.) working in the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Department of the port on regular basis, failing which Employees working in the Port, who hold lower Posts and are in possession of the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment.
(2) In the said Schedule under Regulations, in the Recruitment Rules for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Department) (SI.No.91), the provisions under column No.8 shall be substituted by the following—
Essential:
(i) Degree in Electrical/Electronics / Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & communication Engineering of a recognised university or its equivalent (OR)
(ii) Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & communication Engineering of a recognised Institution with three years post qualification experience in the relevant field of above discipline.

(a) Age : No
(b) Qualifications : Yes
(c) Experience : No.
The provisions under column No.12 shall be substituted by the following—
Promotion:

(8) The Schedule II annexed to the Tuticorin Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotions) Seventh Amendment Regulations, 2017 was Published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette vide No. III(2)/10/2017, dated the 3rd May, 2017.
(9) The Schedule II annexed to the Tuticorin Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotions) Eighth Amendment Regulations, 2016 was Published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette vide No. SRO c-11/2017, dated the 10th May, 2017.
