REVENUE ADMINISTRATION - JURISDICTION - BIFURCATION OF KANCHEEPURAM DISTRICT - CREATION OF CHENGALPATTU NEW DISTRICT UNDER THE TAMIL NADU DISTRICT LIMITS ACT. [G.O. Ms. No. 429, Revenue and Disaster Management, Revenue Administration Wing, [RA1(1)], 12th November 2019, ஐப்பசி 26, விகாரி, திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு-2050.]

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Districts Limits Act, 1865 (Tamil Nadu Act 1 of 1865), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that with effect on and from 12th November 2019.
(i) Kancheepuram District is bifurcated into Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu Districts as follows:-
a. Kancheepuram District with Head Quarters at Kancheepuram.
b. Chengalpattu District with Head Quarters at Chengalpattu.
(ii) Two Divisions of Kancheepuram & Sriperumbudur (New) and Five Taluks of Kancheepuram, Uthiramerur, Sriperumbudur, Walajabad & Kundrathur (New) shall constitute the Kancheepuram District.
(iii) Three Divisions of Chengalpattu, Maduranthagam & Tambaram and Eight Taluks of Chengalpattu, Maduranthagam, Cheyyur, Thirukalukundram, Thiruporur, Tambaram, Pallavaram & Vandalur (New) shall constitute the Chengalpattu New District.
