CONSTITUTION OF 16 SPECIAL COURTS IN 16 DISTRICTS FOR EXCLUSIVE TRIAL OF CASES UNDER THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL OFFENCES ACT AND DESIGNATION THE EXISTING MAHILA COURTS/FAST TRACK MAHILA COURTS AS SPECIAL COURTS TO TRY THE CASES UNDER THE ACT. The Government of Tamil Nadu, in consultation with the High Court of Madras, hereby establishes Special Courts in the cadre of Sessions Judge to try the offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (Central Act 32 of 2012) Specifi ed in Column (3) of the table below within the local area of the respective Districts specifi ed in column (2) thereof, with effect from the date on which the Judges assume charge of the said courts, respectively:-

In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 28 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (Central Act 32 of 2012) read with Section 25 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 (Central Act 4 of 2006) and in supersession of Home Department Notifi cation No.II(2)/HO/164/2009 published at page-116 of Part II - Section 2 of Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated 15-04-2009 and Notifi cation No.II(2)HO/350/2009 published at pages 224-225 of Part II - Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated 15-07-2009, as subsequently amended, the Governor of Tamil Nadu in consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court, Madras hereby designates the following Courts of Sessions specifi ed in column (3) of the table below as Special Courts exclusively to try the offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (Central Act 32 of 2012) within the local area of the respective districts specifi ed in column (2) thereof and also designates the existing Mahila Courts / Fast Track Mahila Courts specifi ed in column (4) of the table below as Special Courts to try the offences under the said Act in addition to the regular work, within the local area of the respective districts specifi ed in column (2) thereof:-
