Under Section 11 (1) & (2) of the Madras University Act, 1923, the Governor of Tamil Nadu constitute a Search committee consisting of the following members to recommend a panel of three names to the Hon'ble Governor-chancellor for appointment of Vice–chancellor of University of Madras:-

1. Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar,

chancellor's Nominee/ convenor

Vice-chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi – 110 067.

2. Dr. P. Ramasamy,

Syndicate Nominee/ Member

Former Vice-chancellor, Alagappa University, Tamil Nadu. Director – Research, Sree Balaji Medical college & Hospital, S.No.2/336B, First Floor, 6th Street, Kandasamy Nagar, Palavakkam, chennai – 600 041.

3. Dr. P. Maruthamuthu,

Senate Nominee/ Member Former Vice-chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University. No.21, 11th cross Street, Mangala Nagar, Porur, chennai –116.

2. Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, shall be the convenor of the Search committee.

3. The above committee is requested to recommend a panel of three names along with their Bio-data to the chancellor of University of Madras.
