REVISION OF RATES OF EXCISE DUTY ON LOCAL SUPPLY OF WINE UNDER THE TAMIL NADU PROHIBITION ACT.

AMENDMENT TO NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 18-B of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act X of 1937), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Prohibition and Excise Department Notifi cation No.II(1)/PE/239(d)/81, published at page 2 of Part II-Section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 1st May 1981, as subsequently amended:-

In the said Notifi cation, in the TABLE, for the entry "Wine manufactured in the State of Tamil Nadu in respect of which the manufacturer's price payable by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited for 180 ml. pack size, and in the absence of 180 ml. pack size, for 375 ml. pack size, and in the absence of both 180 ml. and 375 ml. pack sizes, for 750 ml. pack size which does not exceed Rs.1500/- per case" in column (1) and for the corresponding entry "Rs.7.00 (Rupees seven only) per bulk litre" in column (2) thereof, the following entries shall respectively be substituted, namely:-

"Wine manufactured in the State of Tamil Nadu in respect of which the manufacturers' price payable by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited for 180 ml pack size, and in the absence of 180 ml pack size, for 375 ml pack size and in the absence of both 180 ml and 375 ml pack sizes, for 750 ml pack size which is––

(1) Upto Rs.1500/- per case

Rs.7.00 (Rupees seven only) per bulk litre.,

(2) Rs.1501/- and above per case

Rs.15.00 (Rupees fi fteen only) per bulk litre.".
