A Nominee by the Members of the Senate to the Search Committee for the Appointment of the Vice-Chancellor

It is hereby notifi ed, by direction, that an election will be held for nominating a person by the Senate of the University to serve on the Search Committee of three persons who are to recommend a panel of three names to His Excellency Governor-Chancellor for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor under Section 11(1)/&(2) of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Act, 1990 as amended in Tamil Nadu Universities Law (Amendment) ordinances 2017 published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated 27th May 2017.
The election will be held in accordance with rules and procedures as per the Statutes of this University.
Each member of the Senate shall have a right to nominate not more than one person who is not a member of any of the authorities of the University to the Search Committee.
Every nomination shall be in writing signed by the proposer who shall be a member of the Senate and Seconded in writing by another member of the Senate called the seconder in the prescribed form. The nomination paper and declaration paper may be downloaded from this University website. No nomination shall be valid unless it contains the signatures of both the proposer and the seconder and the nomination form shall also be signed by the person proposed expressing his/her consent to be nominated. Every nomination must be presented before the Registrar either by the proposer or by the seconder or by the person proposed, before 3.00 p.m. on Friday, the 12th November 2021.
The scrutiny of nomination will take place 3.30 p.m. on the same day at the offi ce of the Registrar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Abishekapatti, Tirunelveli-627 012. The Proposer or the Seconder or the proposed nominees are entitled to be present at the time of the scrutiny.

Further, Nomination papers shall be enclosed in an envelope superscribed as indicated below, and sent by Registered Post (Acknowledgment due), so as to be received by the Returning Offi cer/Registrar within the date and hour fi xed or delivered either in person or by a messenger to the Returning Offi cer/Registrar within the last date and hour fi xed. Nomination papers that are not enclosed in an envelope, superscribed and sent by Registered Post or delivered in person or by messenger as required above shall be declared invalid.
