1. The Hon'ble' Chief Minister announcement under Rule 110 during the demand of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department on 08.09.2021.

2. Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and

Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 2021).

3. G.O.(Ms). No. 70, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (ADW6) Department,

dated 12.10.2021.

ORDER: No. 73, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (ADW6), 15th October 2021.

The Hon'ble Chief Minister announced under Rule 110 during the demand of this department on 08.09.2021 that the Government will pass a bill for establishing a State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Tamil Nadu, during the current session itself.

2. In the Act second read above, the Government have enacted the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 which was passed on the ﬂ oor of the Legislative Assembly on 13.09.2021. [ 1 ] II-2 Ex. (527)—1 2 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY

3. In the Government Order 3rd read above Orders have been issued for formation of Selection Committee consisting of the Principal Secretary, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department and the Secretary, Human Resources Management Department under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary to Government for selection of the Chairperson/ Vice Chairperson / Members to the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

4. The Government after careful consideration, hereby appoint the following persons as the Chairperson/ Vice Chairperson / Members to the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes based on the recommendation of the Selection Committee:-

Chairperson : Justice P.R. Shivakumar

Vice Chairperson : M. Punitha Pandiyan

Members : 1. S. Kumara Devan

: 2. K.M. Leelavathi Thanaraj

: 3. P. Ilanchezhian

: 4. Dr. K. Ragupathi

5. The term of oﬃ ce and conditions of Services of Chairperson / Vice Chairperson / Members will be as prescribed under Section-4, Chapter–II of the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Act 17 of 2021).

6. The functions of the Commission will be as prescribed under Section-8, Chapter–III of Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Act 17 of 2021).

7. The powers of the Commission will be as prescribed under Section-9, Chapter–III of Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Act 17 of 2021).

8. The Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Rules comprising of Salary, Allowances and Conditions of Service of the Chairperson / Vice Chairperson / Members of the Commission will be issued separately.
