In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 32 of the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013 (Central Act 25 of 2013), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby designates the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes constituted under the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 2021), to perform, within the State, the functions specified in sub-section (1) of Section 31 of the said Central Act 25 of 2013.
