NOTIFICATIONS BY THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA

APPOINTMENT OF DATES FOR VARIOUS STAGES OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, 2022 No. SRO G–20/2022.

The following Notification of the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110 001, dated 15th June, 2022 [25 Jyaistha, 1944 (Saka)] is republished:-

No. 479/2022:- Whereas, the term of office of Shri Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, is due to expire, in terms of clause (1) of Article 56 of the Constitution, on the 24th Day of July, 2022; and

Whereas, an election is due to be held, in terms of clause (1) of Article 62 of the Constitution, to fill the vacancy to be caused by the expiration of the term of office of the incumbent President before the expiration of term of his office; and Whereas, under sub-section (3) of Section 4 of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952 (31 of 1952), the Election Commission of India is required to so appoint the dates for the election to fill the vacancy in the office of the President of India that the election will be completed at such time as will enable the President thereby elected to enter upon his/her office on the 25th Day of July, 2022;

Now, therefore, the Election Commission of India hereby –

(A) calls upon the Electoral College, referred to in Article 54 of the Constitution, to elect a person to fill the above vacancy in the Office of President of India before the expiration of the term of the incumbent President, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952 (31 of 1952), and the Rules and Orders made thereunder; and

(B) in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act, appoints -

(a) the 29th June, 2022 (Wednesday), as the last date for making nominations;

(b) the 30th June, 2022 (Thursday), as the date for scrutiny of the nominations;

எண். 479/2022-இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் திரு. ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் அவர்களின் பதவிக் காலம் அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டம் பிரிவுக்கூறு 56 பிரிவு (1)-ன்படி, 2022 ஜூலை 24 ஆம் நாளன்று முடிவடையவிருப்பதாலும்; அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டம் பிரிவுக்கூறு 62 பிரிவு (1)-ன்படி, தற்போதைய குடியரசுத் தலைவரின் பதவிக் காலம் முடிவடைவதால் ஏற்படும் காலியிடத்தை, அவருடைய பதவிக்காலம் முடிவடைவதற்கு முன்னால் அக்காலியிடத்தை நிரப்புவதற்கு தேர்தல் நடைபெற வேண்டுமென்பதாலும்,

குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மற்றும் குடியரசு துணைத் தலைவர் தேர்தல்கள் சட்டம், 1952-ன் (31/1952) 4ஆவது பிரிவில் கண்ட (3) உட்பிரிவிற்கிணங்க, இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பதவியை நிரப்புவதற்கான தேர்தலுக்காக, அத்தேர்தலின் மூலம் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படுகிற குடியரசுத் தலைவர் 2022 ஜூலை 25-ம் நாளன்று தனது பதவியை ஏற்க ஏதுவாக அத்தேர்தலை உரிய காலத்தில் நடத்தி முடிக்கும் வகையில் தேர்தல் தேதிகளை இந்திய தேர்தல் ஆணையம் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட வேண்டியிருப்பதாலும், ஆகவே, இந்தியத் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் இதனால் குறிப்பிடுகின்றது-

(அ) அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டப் பிரிவுக் கூறு 54 இல் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள வாக்காளர் குழு, தற்போதைய குடியரசுத் தலைவரின் பதவிக்காலம் முடிவடைவதற்கு முன்பாக ஏற்படும் காலியிடத்தை நிரப்புவதற்கு தேர்வு செய்யும் பொருட்டு, அரசியலமைப்பு விதிகளின்படியும், குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மற்றும் குடியரசுத் துணைத்தலைவர் தேர்தல்கள் சட்டம், 1952 (31/1952)-ன்கீழ் விதிகள் மற்றும் ஆணைகளின்படி அழைப்பு விடுகிறது; மற்றும்TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY 3 (ஆ) மேற்படி சட்டத்தின் 4–வது பிரிவில் கண்ட (1) உட்பிரிவினையொட்டி, நிர்ணயித்துள்ளது –

No. 479/2022 (1):- In pursuance of Rule 7 of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Rules, 1974, the Election Commission of India hereby-

(a) fixes each of the places specified in column (2) of the Table below to be a place of polling at the Presidential Election to be held in accordance with its notification No. 479/2022, dated 15th June, 2022; and

Normally, members of Parliament are expected to cast their votes at New Delhi and members of all respective State Legislative Assemblies at the concerned place of poll. However, on account of any exigency for special circumstances, the Members of Parliament can vote in any of the places of polling in any State/Delhi/Puducherry. Similarly, any MLA desirous of voting at Parliament, New Delhi or at any other Legislative Assemblies instead of his/her concerned place of poll, can also do so. For this purpose, such electors shall have to apply to the Election Commission in the prescribed format [available with the Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officers and also on the Commission's website (www.eci.gov.in)] so as to reach the Commission at least 10 days before the date of poll.

பொதுவாக நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் புதுடில்லியிலும், அனைத்து மாநில சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட மாநில சட்ட மன்றப் பேரவையில் அமைந்துள்ள வாக்குச்சாவடியிலும் தங்களது வாக்குகளை அளிப்பார்கள் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. இருப்பினும், அவசர சந்தர்ப்பங்களில் சிறப்பு நேர்வாக, நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் மாநில தலைநகர்/டில்லி/ புதுச்சேரியில் அமைந்துள்ள ஏதேனும் ஒரு வாக்குச் சாவடியில் வாக்களிக்கலாம். அதேபோல், சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினரும் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட மாநில வாக்குச்சாவடியில் வாக்களிப்பதற்கு பதிலாக நாடாளுமன்றம் புதுடில்லி அல்லது வேறு மாநில சட்டமன்றப் பேரவையில் அமைந்துள்ள வாக்குச்சாவடியில் வாக்களிக்கலாம். இதற்காக, வாக்காளர்கள், தேர்தல் நடத்தும் அதிகாரி மற்றும் உதவி தேர்தல் நடத்தும் அதிகாரிகள் மற்றும் ஆணையத்தின் இணையதளத்தில் (www.eci.nic.in) உள்ள வரையறுக்கப்பட்ட படிவத்தில் தேர்தலுக்கு 10 நாட்களுக்கு முன்னதாக கிடைக்குமாறு இந்தியத் தேர்தல் ஆணையத்திற்கு விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும்

The following Notification of the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi - 110 001, dated 15th June 2022 (25 Jyaistha, 1944 (Saka) is republished:-

479/2022 (2):- In pursuance of clause (b) of Rule 7 of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Rules, 1974, the Election Commission of India hereby specifies the hours from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., both inclusive, to be the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken at each place of polling fixed by the Commission in its notification No. 479/2022 (1), dated the 15th June, 2022, for the Presidential Election, referred to therein
