RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ DEPARTMENT

REMOVAL OF CHAIRMAN OF THE KADAMALAIKUNDU-MYLADUMPARAI PANCHAYAT UNION COUNCIL, THENI DISTRICT UNDER THE TAMIL NADU PANCHAYATS ACT, 1994.

WHEREAS, a written complaint petition signed by ten Ward Members out of the sanctioned strength of fourteen Members of the Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district against Tmt.S.Chandra Santhosam, Chairman of the said Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district has been submitted to the Government as per clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 207 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994);

AND WHEREAS, a show cause notice under sub-section (1) of the said section 207 was issued against Tmt.S.Chandra Santhosam, Chairman, Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district to submit her explanation within ten days from the date of receipt of the said notice. She has submitted her explanation;

AND WHEREAS, a copy of the show cause notice along with the Explanation submitted by Tmt. S.Chandra Santhosam, Chairman, Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district were forwarded to the Revenue Divisional Offi cer, Periyakulam, Theni district with a proposal for the removal of the said Chairman from offi ce, for ascertaining the views of the said Panchayat Union Council under sub-section (2) of the said section 207;

AND WHEREAS, the Government, after considering the complaint petition of the ten ward members of the Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district, the explanation submitted by the said Chairman and the views of the said Panchayat Union Council, have decided to remove Tmt.S.Chandra Santhosam, Chairman, Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district from the offi ce of the Chairman of the said Panchayat Union Council;

NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (12) of section 207 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby removes Tmt.S.Chandra Santhosam, Chairman, Kadamalaikundu-Myladumparai Panchayat Union Council, Theni district from the offi ce of the Chairman of the said Panchayat Union Council with immediate effect.
