"Under the powers conferred on the Registrar of Co-operative Societies (Industrial Co-operatives) under Section 137 (2) (b) of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act 1983 (Act 30 of 1983), the aff airs of the Coimbatore District Anna Autorickshaw Drivers Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd., IND No.1625, Coimbatore District have been ordered to be wound up with immediate effect by the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce / The Registrar of Co-operative Societies (Industrial Co-operatives), Chennai vide Proc.No.14157/ICC/2022-1 dated 20.03.2023.

Under Section 138(1) of the same Act, the Assistant (Industrial Co-operatives) / Offi cial Liquidator, District Industries Centre, Coimbatore has been appointed as the Offi cial Liquidator of the said society for the purpose of liquidation".

Constitution of a District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Court at Viralimalai in Pudukkottai District

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts Act, 1873 (Central Act III of 1873) the High Court, Madras, hereby fi xes Viralimalai in Pudukkottai District as the place at which the District Munsif-cum- Judicial Magistrate Court, Viralimalai, shall be held.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 11 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts Act, 1873 (Central Act III of 1873) the High Court, Madras, hereby directs that in Pudukkottai District, the District Munsif Court at Keeranur shall cease to have local jurisdiction over the entire Viralimalai Taluk and the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Court, Viralimalai shall have and exercise local jurisdiction over the entire Taluk of Viralimalai with effect from the date on which the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Viralimalai assumes charge of that Court.

The High Court, Madras hereby directs and notifi es that the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Viralimalai in Pudukkottai District shall exercise all the powers conferred on a District Munsif under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts Act, 1873 (Central Act III of 1873) as amended up-to-date in regard to original suits and proceedings not otherwise exempted from his/her cognizance of which the amount or value of the subject matter does not exceed One Lakh Rupees within the local limits of his/her jurisdiction with effect from the date on which the District Munsif-cum- Judicial Magistrate, Viralimalai assumes charge of that Court.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 28 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts Act, 1873 (Central Act III of 1873) the High Court, Madras, hereby directs that the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Viralimalai, shall have and exercise jurisdiction of a Court of Small Causes under the Provincial Small Cause Courts Act, 1887 for the trial of suits cognizable by a Court of Small Causes upto the pecuniary limits of Rs.5000/- (Rupees fi ve thousand only) with effect from the date on which the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Court, Viralimalai, assumes charge of that Court.

Conferment of Magisterial Powers on certain Revenue Officials.

No.63/2023.—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 13 of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), the High Court hereby appoints the following (i) 5 Deputy Tahsildars in Vellore District and (ii) 8 Deputy Tahsildars in Thoothukudi District as Special Judicial Magistrates, to undergo Magisterial Training for a period of 120 days, from the date of assumption of charge and confers upon them the ordinary powers conferable under this Code on a Judicial Magistrate to try such cases which were earlier triable and dealt with by an erstwhile Judicial Second Class Magistrate.
