AMENDMENTS TO THE TAMIL NADU LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY (SALARIES AND REIMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL EXPENSES TO MEMBERS) RULES, 1979.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 read with Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Payment of Salaries Act, 1951 (Tamil Nadu Act XX of 1951), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (Salaries and Reimbursement of Medical Expenses to Members) Rules, 1979.
2. The amendments hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st April 2020.
Amendments
In the said Rules,—
(1) for rule 6, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:
"6. Mode of Payment of Salary.— The salary shall be paid by the Secretary or any other officer, not below the rank of an Under Secretary, authorised by him in this behalf, and credited to the Bank Account of the Member concerned.";
(2) rules 7 and 8 shall be omitted;
(3) in rule 9, for the expression "cheque shall be issued", the expression "the amount shall be credited to the Bank Account of the Member through Electronic Clearing System" shall be substituted;
(4) in rule 12, the expression "/Trunk call and phonogram charges" and the expression "or to former Legislative Council Secretariat", shall be omitted;
(5) rule 13-A shall be omitted;
(6) FORM B shall be omitted; and
(7) in FORM C for the expression "Cheque No. …… Drawn on ………..", the expression "IFHRMS Reference No. ………………. Dated ……….." shall be substituted.
