RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ DEPARTMENT
REMOVAL OF CHAIRMAN OF NARIKUDI PANCHAYAT UNION COUNCIL, VIRUDHUNAGAR DISTRICT UNDER THE TAMIL NADU PANCHAYATS ACT, 1994.

WHEREAS, a written notice of the intention to make a motion expressing want of confidence in Tmt.V.M.Panchavarnam, Chairman, Narikudi Panchayat Union Council, Virudhunagar district, signed by twelve members, out of the sanctioned strength of fourteen members of the said Council, together with a copy of the motion proposed to be made and a written statement of charges against the said Chairman have been delivered to the District Collector, Virudhunagar district in person by twelve members and he has caused the copy to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar district to convene Narikudi Panchayat Union Council to make a motion expressing want of confidence in the said Chairman as per section 212 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994);
AND WHEREAS, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar district caused a copy of the statement of charges along with a copy of the notice of motion to be delivered, to the said Chairman Tmt.V.M.Panchavarnam and she has submitted her reply to the charges;
AND WHEREAS, a motion expressing want of confidence in Tmt.V.M.Panchavarnam, Chairman, Narikudi Panchayat Union Council, Virudhunagar district had been carried with a support of twelve members out of the sanctioned strength of fourteen members of the said Panchayat Union Council in the meeting convened by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar district on the 3rd March, 2023 after following the procedures specified in the said section 212 and forwarded the same to Government;
NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (13) of section 212 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby removes Tmt.V.M.Panchavarnam, Chairman, Narikudi Panchayat Union Council, Virudhunagar district from the office of the Chairman of the said Panchayat Union Council with immediate effect.
