[ADI DRAVIDAR AND TRIBAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT–APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER TO TAMIL NADU STATE COMMISSION FOR THE SCHEDULED CASTES AND SCHEDULED TRIBES – ORDERS - ISSUED.] The following Government Order is published:-

Order:- No. 101, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (ADW6), 2nd August 2023.
In the reference first read above, the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 2021) was enacted. The Act came into force with effect from 13.10.2021 by a notification vide Government Order second read above.
2 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY2. As per the Act, the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes consists of a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson and five Members.
3. In the Government Order third read above, Government have appointed the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and four Members in the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
4. In the Government Order fourth read above, orders have been issued constituting a Selection Committee consisting of Secretary, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Secretary, Human Resources Management Department under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary to Government for selection of one vacant Member in the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
5. The Government after careful consideration, hereby appoint Tmt. J. Rekha Priyadharshini as Member in the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
6. The term of office and conditions of service of the above Member will be governed as per the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 2021) and Rules made thereunder.
