SOCIAL WELFARE AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT DEPARTMENT
AMENDMENTS TO THE TAMIL NADU MAINTENANCE AND WELFARE OF PARENTS AND SENIOR CITIZENS RULES, 2009.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 32 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (Central Act 56 of 2007), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Tamil Nadu Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2009:-
Amendments.
In the said Rules, in rule 23,-
(i) in sub-rule (2), after item (6), the following item shall be added, namely:-
"(7) The People's representative like Member of Legislative Assembly/ Parliament (one in each district) - Member.";
(ii) for sub-rule (6), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-
"(6) The number of Non-official Members shall be 5 (Five)
and they are eligible for re-nomination.".
