RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ DEPARTMENT
DISQUALIFICATION OF 7TH WARD MEMBER, RAMANATHAPURAM PANCHAYAT UNION, RAMANATHAPURAM DISTRICT UNDER THE TAMIL NADU PANCHAYATS ACT, 1994.

WHEREAS, the opinion of the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission was sought for, regarding the disqualifi cation of Thiru.K.Manoharan, 7th ward member, Ramanathapuram Panchayat Union, Ramanathapuram District, as required under sub-section (2) of Section 41 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994) as he has undertaken panchayat works as a contractor through M/s. Sri Sai & Co. Constructions as one of partner in the said fi rm vide partnership deed No.473334, dated 05.08.2020;
AND WHEREAS, the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission, after conducting an enquiry and verifying all the relevant documents, has confi rmed that Thiru.K.Manoharan, 7th ward member, Ramanathapuram Panchayat Union, has undertaken panchayat works as a contractor through M/s. Sri Sai & Co. Constructions as one of the partner in the said fi rm vide partnership deed No.473334, dated 05.08.2020 and opined that Thiru.K.Manoharan, 7th ward member, Ramanathapuram Panchayat Union, Ramanathapuram District is disqualifi ed to continue as ward member of the said Panchayat Union under clause (c) of sub-section (3) of Section 38 of the said Act;
NOW THEREFORE, under sub-section (1) of Section 41 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby decides that Thiru.K.Manoharan, S/o.Thiru.Ramalingam, 7th ward member, Ramanathapuram Panchayat Union, Ramanathapuram District has become disqualifi ed from holding the offi ce of ward member of the said Panchayat Union under clause (c) of sub-section (3) of Section 38 of the said Act, as he has undertaken panchayat works as a contractor through M/s. Sri Sai & Co. Constructions.
