JUDICIAL NOTIFICATION
Amendments to the Madras High Court Service Rules, 2015.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 229(1) and (2) of the Constitution of India read with Rule 28(b) of the Madras High Court Service Rules, 2015 and of all other powers connected thereto, the Hon 'ble The Acting Chief Justice is pleased to make the following amendments to the Madras High Court Service Rules, 2015,
Amendment I
In "SECTION-II (LAST GRADE) of "DIVISION - III (NON GAZETTED)" of "Rule 3 - "Constitution of Service" under the Column "Category", after 2(a), the following shall be inserted:
"2(a)(1) Residential Assistant"
Amendment II
In Rule 14-A under the heading "Qualification and Mode of Appointment to the posts in Divisions-Il and III", "DIVISION - III", in "SECTION-II (LAST GRADE)" after Category l(b), the following amendments shall be made:

The written test shall be either an objective type test on basic knowledge or an essay type question just to check the comprehension and writing skills of the applicant (i) For direct appointment as Office Assistant, preference will be given to the persons having valid LMV driving licence/ experience in cooking / experience in house - keeping (ii) For direct appointment as Residential Assistant, preference will be given to the candidates having the following Technical Qualification: (a) One year Craft Course, under Regular Stream, in the field of House Keeping / Food and Beverage / Cooking / Bakery from a recognized Institute in Indian Union with two years working experience in the respective field and with a knowledge to converse fluently in Tamil and English, and (b) Those who are having valid LMV Driving License. |

Amendment III
In Rule 14-A under the heading "Qualification and Mode of Appointment to the posts in Divisions-II and III", "DIVISION - III", in "SECTION-II (LAST GRADE)" in Category 1 (a) Duffadar under the heading Mode of Appointment, the existing entries in the By Promotion clause may be substituted with the following entries:
By Promotion from Category 2 of Section-II of Division-III viz., Chobdar / Office Assistant / Sweeper / Gardener/ Scavenger / Waterman, Residential Assistant and Room Boy / Sanitary Worker / Watchman.
Amendment IV
In Rule 14-A under the heading "Qualification and Mode of Appointment to the posts in Divisions-II and III", "DIVISION - III", in "SECTION-II (LAST GRADE)" in Category 1(b) Watch and Ward under the heading Mode of Appointment, the existing entries in the (i) By Promotion clause may be substituted with the following entries:
(i) By Promotion from Category 2 of Section-II of Division-III viz., Chobdar / Office Assistant / Sweeper / Gardener/ Scavenger / Waterman, Residential Assistant and Room Boy / Sanitary Worker / Watchman.
Amendment V
In Annexure 'A', under the heading "Scales of Pay", in "Division -III (NON-GAZETTED)", SECTION-II (LAST GRADE), after Category 2(a), the following category be inserted:
