NOTIFICATIONS BY THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA
APPOINTMENT OF DATES FOR ELECTION TO FILL THE OFFICE OF VICE-PRESIDENT OF INDIA, 2025.
No.SRO G-25/2025.
The following Notification of the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110 001, dated the 07th August, 2025 (Sravana 16, 1947 (Saka) is republished:-
No. 480/Programme/2025:- Whereas, a vacancy in the office of the Vice-President of India has occurred by reason of resignation of Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar on 21st July, 2025; and
Whereas, under clause (2) of Article 68 of the Constitution of India, an election to fill the said vacancy is required to be held as soon as possible after the occurrence of the vacancy; and
Whereas, under sub-section 4 of Section 4 of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952 (31 of 1952), the Election Commission of lndia is required to appoint the dates for the election to fill the office of the Vice President of India;
Now, therefore, the Election Commission of India hereby -
(A) calls upon the Electoral College, referred to in Article 66 of the Constitution, to elect a person to fill the said vacancy in the office of the Vice-President of India, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952 (31 of 1952), and the Rules and Orders made thereunder; and
(B) in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act, appoints -
a) the 21st August, 2025 (Thursday), as the last date for making nominations:
b) the 22nd August, 2025 (Friday), as the date for scrutiny of the nominations:
c) the 25th August, 2025 (Monday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures: and
d) the 09th September (Tuesday), as the date on which a poll shalI, if necessary, be taken.

எண்.480/நிரல்/2025:-எண்.480/நிரல்/2025:- இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் திரு. ஜெகதீப் தன்கர் அவர்கள் 21, ஜூலை 2025 அன்று ராஜினாமா செய்ததன் காரணமாக, இந்திய துணை குடியரசு தலைவர் பதவியில் ஒரு காலியிடம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாலும்;
இந்திய அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டம் பிரிவு கூறு 68 (2)-இன்கீழ், காலியிடம் ஏற்பட்டவுடன், கூடிய விரைவில் அந்த இடத்தை நிரப்புவதற்கான தேர்தல் நடைபெற வேண்டுமென்பதாலும்;
குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மற்றும் குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் தேர்தல்கள் சட்டம், 1952-இன் (31/1952) 4-வது பிரிவில் கண்ட உட்பிரிவு (4)-இன்கீழ், இந்தியத் துணைக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பதவியை நிரப்புவதற்கான தேர்தல் தேதிகளை இந்தியத் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் நியமிக்க வேண்டியுள்ளதாலும்;
ஆகவே, இந்தியத் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் இதனால் குறிப்பிடுகின்றது-
(அ) அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டப் பிரிவுக் கூறு 66-இல் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள வாக்காளர் குழு, இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் பதவியில் உள்ள காலியிடத்தை நிரப்ப ஒரு நபரைத் தேர்வு செய்யும் பொருட்டு, அரசியலமைப்பு விதிகளின்படியும், குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மற்றும் குடியரசு துணைத்தலைவர் தேர்தல்கள் சட்டம், 1952 (31/1952)-ன்கீழ் விதிகள் மற்றும் ஆணைகளின்படி அழைப்பு விடுகிறது; மற்றும்
(ஆ) மேற்படி சட்டத்தின் 4-வது பிரிவில் கண்ட (1) உட்பிரிவினையொட்டி, நிர்ணயித்துள்ளது -
அ) வேட்புமனுக்கள் தாக்கல் செய்ய கடைசி நாள் : 21 ஆகஸ்ட் 2025 (வியாழக்கிழமை) ஆ) வேட்புமனுக்கள் பரிசீலனை செய்யும் நாள் : 22 ஆகஸ்ட் 2025 (வெள்ளிக்கிழமை) இ) வேட்புமனுக்களை திரும்ப பெறுவதற்கான கடைசி நாள் : 25 ஆகஸ்ட் 2025 (திங்கட்கிழமை)
ஈ) வாக்குப் பதிவு நாள், தேவைப்படின் : 9 செப்டம்பர் 2025 (செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை)

The following notification of the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110 001, dated 07th August, 2025 (Sravana 16, 1947 (Saka) is republished:-
480/P.O.P/2025:- In pursuance of Rule 8 of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Rules. 1974 the Election Commission of India hereby:
(a) fixes Room No. F-101, Vasudha, First Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi as the place of polling for the Vice-Presidential Election to be held in accordance with its Notification No.480/Programme/2025, dated the 07th August, 2025; and3 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY (b) specifies the hours from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. both inclusive to be the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken at the said place of polling.

(அ) 2025-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் திங்கள் 7-ஆம் நாளிட்ட எண்.480/நிரல்/2025–ஆம் எண்ணுள்ள அறிவிக்கைப்படி, புது டில்லியிலுள்ள நாடாளுமன்ற இல்லம், முதல் மாடி, வசூதா, எப்-101-வது எண் கொண்ட அறையை குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் தேர்தலுக்கான வாக்குப்பதிவு நடைபெறும் இடமாகவும்;
(ஆ) மேற்படி இடத்தில் காலை 10.00 மணி முதல் மாலை 5.00 மணி வரையில் தேர்தல், தேவைப்படின், நடக்குமெனவும் இதனால் குறிப்பிடுகின்றது.
