[G.O. Ms. No. 66, Agriculture - Farmers Welfare (AP4), 13th March 2026,

மாசி 29, விசுவாவசு, திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு-2057.]

No. II(1)/AGFW/5(h)/2026.

Crop calendar and Harvesting period of Black Gram in the State of Tamil Nadu A remunerative and stable price for Black Gram farmers is very much imperative for Increasing the agricultural production and productivity. The market price of agricultural produces tend to be unstable and volatile many times resulting in undue losses to the farmers and discourage adoption of the modern technology and required inputs. The Government's price policy for agricultural commodities seeks to ensure remunerative prices to the farmers for their produce with a view to encourage higher investment & production and safeguard the interest of consumers by making available supplies at reasonable prices with low cost of intermediation. The price policy also seeks to evolve a balanced and integrated price structure in the perspective of the overall needs of the economy. In this regard, the Government announces Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for major agricultural commodities every year for Kharif and Rabi seasons after taking into account the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP).
As per the revised guidelines for Price Support Scheme (PSS) (Pulses, Oil Seeds & Copra) October, 2024 issued by the Government of India, (Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare), the Crop calendar and harvesting period of the crop are required to be notified to avail Price Support Scheme. The Government of Tamil Nadu is willing to implement the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for Black Gram during Rabi, 2025-26 and its operation in Tamil Nadu and accordingly declare the following details:-
