In exercise of the powers conferred by clause 4 of the Tamil Nadu Local Bodies Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 2025 and also other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission hereby makes the following amendments to S.O.No.12/2025/TNSEC/ME1 dated 21st July 2025 as published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.400, Part VI—Section 2, dated.24.07.2025 under Notification No.VI(2)/15(a)/2025, and as amended:-

In the said Notification, in TABLE 3, against serial number 4 in the first column, for the entries in second and third columns thereof, the following entries shall, respectively, be substituted, namely: -

[ELECTIONS - LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS - LIST OF ADDITIONAL FREE SYMBOLS - NOTIFIED] (S.O.No. 02/2026/TNSEC/ME-1 Dated the 3rd June, 2026)

1. S.O. No.10/2025/TNSEC/ME-1, Dated the 06th May 2025.

2. S.O. No.12/2025/TNSEC/ME-1, Dated the 21st July 2025.

WHEREAS, it has become expedient to notify the list of additional free symbols for use in the local body elections, where the number of contesting candidates exceeds 30;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 4 and 6 of the Tamil Nadu Local Bodies Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 2025 and in continuation of the Statutory Order No.12/2025/TNSEC/ ME1 dated 21st July 2025 as published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.400, Part VI - Section 2, dated.24.07.2025 under Notification No.VI(2)/15(a)/2025, at page 1 to 18 cited, and as amended, the Commission hereby notifies a list of additional free symbols common for all local body elections.

The list of additional free symbols for the use in the election of Members/Presidents of Village Panchayats

and Members of Panchayat Unions/District Panchayats/ Councillors of Town Panchayats and

Councillors of Municipalities/Corporations.
