ELECTIONS TO LOCAL BODIES - REGISTRATION OF POLITICAL PARTIES - REGISTRATION OF "TELANGANA JANA SAMITHI".

Order No. 115 / TSEC-L/2018.— Sri Ambati Srinivas, President of the proposed "Telangana Jana Samithi", has applied for registration of his political party under the Registration of Political Parties and Allotment of Symbols Order, 2001 with the Telangana State Election Commission on 03.03.2018.

2. The Commission set in motion the process of registration of the "Telangana Jana Samithi", as per the provisions of Symbols Order, 2001, by directing the Party to publish a public notice calling for objections from the general public for registration of the said political party. The Party has published a notice in two daily news papers, i.e. in "Andhrajyothi" a Telugu daily news paper and in "The Siasat" an Urdu daily news paper on 15.03.2018.

3. Further the Commission has hosted the notice in the TSEC web portal on 02.04.2018. and also published in the extra ordinary issue of Telangana gazette No.24, Dt: 03.04.2018 calling for objections if any from the general public for registration of "Telangana Jana Samithi" with the TSEC.

4. The Commission has received an objection petition from Sri Ch.(P) Gopalakrishna Murthy, State President, "Telangana Praja Samithi (Kishore, Rao and Kishan)" for registration of "Telangana Jana Samithi" stating that, the name "Telangana Jana Samithi" resembles with "Telangana Praja Samithi" and meaning of the both names also same. The Commission rejected the objection as it found to be flimsy and such Party is not registered with the TSEC.
