NOTIFICATION
No. 480 / Programme/ 2025 : - Whereas , a vacancy in the office of the Vice - President of India has occurred by reason ofresignation of Sh.Jagdeep Dhankhar on 21st July, 2025 : and
Whereas , under clause (2) of Article 68 of the Constitution of India , an election to fill the said vacancy is required to be held as soon as possible after the occurrence of the vacancy:
Whereas , under sub - section 4 of Section 4 of the Presidential and Vice -Presidential Elections Act , 1952 ( 31 of 1952) , the Election Commission of India is required to appoint the dates for the election to fill the office of the Vice President of India:

[Part- V Now, therefore , the Election Commission of India hereby.-
(A) calls upon the Electoral College , referred to in Article 66 of the Constitution , to elect a person to fill the said vacancy in the office of the Vice - President of India. in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution , the Presidential and Vice - Presidential Elections Act , 1952 (31 of 1952) , and the Rules and Orders made thereunder ; and
(B) in pursuance of sub - section ( 1 ) of Section 4 of the said Act , appoints-
a) the 21st August , 2025 (Thursday) , as the last date for making nominations :
b) the 22nd August, 2025 ( Friday) , as the date for scrutiny of the nominations:
c) the 25th August, 2025 ( Monday) , as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures , and d) the 09th September , (Tuesday) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary, be taken.

480/P.O.P/ 2025 : - In pursuance of Rule 8 of the Presidential and Vice - Presidential Elections Rules , 1974 the Election Commission of India hereby.-
(a) fixes Room No F - 101 Vasudha First Floor- Parliament House , New Delhi as the place of polling for the Vice- Presidential Election to be held in accordance with its Notification No. 480 /Programme /2025 , dated the 07th August , 2025: and
(b) specifies the hours from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. both inclusive to be the hours during which the poll shall , if necessary , be taken at the said place of polling .

నెం . 480 / ప్రోగ్రామ్/ 2025 :- శ్రీ జగ్దీప్ ధనఖర్ 2025 , జూలై 21 వ తేదీన రాజీనామా చేయడం వల్ల భారత ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి కార్యాలయంలో ఖాళీ ఏర్పడింది.
భారత రాజ్యాంగంలోని 68 వ పరిచ్ఛేదంలోగల క్లాజ్ ( 2 ) ప్రకారం , ఖాళీ ఏర్పడిన తర్వాత వీలైనంత త్వరగా ఆ ఖాళీని భర్తీ చేయడానికి ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించాలి .
1952 , రాష్ట్రపతి మరియు ఉప - రాష్ట్రపతి ఎన్నికల చట్టం , ( 1952 లోని 31 వది) లోని 4 వ విభాగపు 4 వ ఉప - విభాగం ప్రకారం , భారత ఉప - రాష్ట్రపతి పదవిని భర్తీ చేయడానికి ఎన్నికల తేదీలను భారత ఎన్నికల సంఘం నిర్ణయించాలి .
అందువల్ల , భారత ఎన్నికల సంఘం ఇందుమూలంగా -
( ఎ ) రాజ్యాంగంలోని నిబంధనలు, 1952 , రాష్ట్రపతి మరియు ఉప- రాష్ట్రపతి ఎన్నికల చట్టం , (1952 లోని 31 వది ) మరియు దాని కింద చేసిన నియమాలు మరియు ఉత్తర్వుల ప్రకారం , భారత ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి పదవిని భర్తీ చేయడానికి ఒక వ్యక్తిని ఎన్నుకోవాలని రాజ్యాంగంలోని 66 వ పరిచ్ఛేదంలో పేర్కొన్న ఎలక్టోరల్ కాలేజీని కోరడమయింది .

( ১) దాని నోటిఫికేషన్ నెం .480 /ప్రోగ్రామ్/ 2025 , తేదీ 07 ఆగష్టు, 2025 కి అనుగుణంగా జరిగే ఉప - రాష్ట్రపతి ఎన్నిక కోసం పోలింగ్ స్థలంగా న్యూఢిల్లీలోని పార్లమెంట్ హౌస్ , మొదటి అంతస్తులో ఉన్న వసుధ రూమ్ నెం . ఎఫ్ -101 , నిర్ణయిస్తుంది ; మరియు
( బి ) అవసరమైతే , పైన పేర్కొన్న పోలింగ్ స్థలంలో పోలింగ్ నిర్వహించబడే సమయాన్ని ఉదయం 10.00 నుండి సాయంత్రం 5.00 వరకు నిర్దేశిస్తుంది .
