THE TELANGANA MINISTERIAL SERVICES RULES , 1988 - AMENDMENTS TO RULE 4 AND RULE 13 OF THE RULES .
[GO.Ms.No.33 , General Administration (Ser.B) , 6th March, 2026.]
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India and all other powers hereunto enabling , the Governor of Telangana hereby makes the following amendments to the Telangana Ministerial Service Rules , 1998 issued in G.O.Ms.No.261 ,G.A (Ser.B) Dept. , dated14.07.1998 as adapted to the State of Telangana vide G.O.Ms.No.195, GA (Ser.B) Dept, dated: 28.05.2016 and as subsequently amended from time to time.
AMENDMENTS
In the said rules, in rule 4, in sub - rule ( ii ) , in clause (f) ,
(1) for the expression " Posts of Superintendents/Managers/Accountants in Police Department other than the Director General and Inspector General of Police Office " the following shall be substituted, namely , -
"Posts of Superintendents , Special Category Stenographers , Managers , and Senior Assistants , Senior Stenographers and other equivalent posts in the group of Offices in the Zones in the Police Department as specified in the table below: - " ;
(2) in the table thereunder , for Sl . Nos . I , II and V and the entries corresponding thereto , pertaining to the posts Superintendent and equivalent categories , Senior Assistant and equivalent categories , the following shall be substituted , namely, -

[Part- I 2. In rule 13, after clause ( e) , the following clause shall be added , namely, -
"( f) ( i ) for the purpose of recruitment , appointment and discharge , the ' Unit of Appointment' in respect of Junior Assistant and equivalent categories , shall be the Police Districts and Commissionarate, Special Police Battalions , Police Training Colleges concerned and Special Armed Reserved Central Police Lines ;
(ii ) for the purpose of 'Appointment by Transfer ' from the Last Grade Services and General Subordinate Services , the Unit of Appointment to the post of Junior Assistant and equivalent categories shall be the Police Districts and Commissionerates , Special Police Battalions , Police Training Colleges concerned and Special Armed Reserved Central Police Lines;
(iii) for the purpose of promotion , appointment by transfer , seniority , discharge and such other matters as may be specified by the Government , the Unit of Appointment for the posts of Senior Assistant and equivalent categories
and Office Superintendent and equivalent categories in Police Districts and Commissionerates , Special Police Battalions , Police Training Colleges and Special Armed Reserved Central Police Lines in the Police Department shall be the zone concerned . "
5. The Director General of Police, Telangana , Hyderabad shall take further necessary action in the matter accordingly .
