THE DELHI SPECIAL POLICE ESTABLISHMENT (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 2021 (No. 10 OF 2021)
Promulgated by the President in the Seventy-second Year of the Republic of
India.
An Ordinance further to amend the Delhi Special Police Establishment
Act, 1946.
WHEREAS Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied that
circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers confirmed by clause (1) of article 123 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance :– 2 उत्तर प्रदेश असाधारण गजट, 2 दिसम्बर, 2021 25 of 1946 Amendment of section 4B 2. In section 4B of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946, in sub-section (1), the following provisions shall be inserted, namely : "Provided that the period for which the Director holds the office on his initial appointment may, in public interest, on the recommendation of the Committee under sub-section (1) of section 4A and for the reasons to be recorded in writing, be extended up to one year at a time:
Provided further that no such extension shall be granted after the completion of a period of five years in total including the period mentioned in the initial appointment;".
