यतः इस (cid:255)कार उ(cid:194)प(cid:301) होने वाली को भरने के (cid:255)योजन से ि(cid:300)वािष(cid:170)क िनवा(cid:170)चन कराया जाना है;

अतः, अब लोक (cid:255)ितिनिध(cid:194)व अिधिनयम 1951 (1951 का 43) क(cid:236) धारा 16 के अनुसरण म(cid:164), जैसा िक िनवा(cid:170)चन आयोग ने िसफा(cid:229)रश क(cid:236) है िक उ(cid:176)र (cid:255)देश रा(cid:186)य के रा(cid:186)यपाल रा(cid:186)य क(cid:236) िवधान सभा के सद(cid:214)य(cid:332) से यह अपे(cid:177)ा करते ह(cid:167) िक वे उ(cid:265) अिधिनयम के उपब(cid:198)ध(cid:332) और उसके अधीन बनाए िनयम(cid:332) और आदेश(cid:332) के अनुसार उ(cid:265) (cid:229)रि(cid:265)य(cid:332) को भरने के (cid:255)योजन से रा(cid:186)य क(cid:236) िवधान प(cid:229)रषद के िलए

IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification No. 399/61-2022, dated June 2, 2022:

No. 399/61-2022

Dated Lucknow, June 2, 2022

WHEREAS, the seats of 13 (thirteen) members of the Legislative Council of the State of Uttar Pradesh, elected by the members of Legislative Assembly of the State are due to fall vacant on 06.07.2022 on retirement of those members, on the expiration of their term of office as detailed below :–

WHEREAS, a Biennial election has to be held for the purpose of filling the above vacancies so arising;

NOW, THEREFORE, as recommended by the Election Commission of India, in pursuance of Section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Governor of the State of Uttar Pradesh is, hereby, pleased to call upon the Members of the Legislative Assembly of the State, to elect thirteen members to the Legislative Council of the State, for the purpose of filling the above said vacancies, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder.

NOTIFICATIONS

No. 322/UP-LC/2022 (MLAs) (1) :- WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Uttar Pradesh has, by notification issued under Section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951) and published in the official Gazette of the State on 02nd June, 2022 been pleased to call upon the members of the Legislative Assembly of the State, to elect thirteen members to the Legislative Council of the State: -

NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 39 and Section 56 of the said Act, the Election Commission of India hereby –

(A) appoints, with respect to the said election –

(a) the 09th June, 2022 (Thursday), as the last date for making nominations; (b) the 10th June, 2022 (Friday), as the date for the scrutiny of the nominations; (c) the 13th June, 2022 (Monday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures; (d) the 20th June, 2022 (Monday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken;

and

(e) the 22nd June, 2022 (Wednesday), as the date before which the election shall be completed; and

(B) fixes the hours from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm, as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken in the State on the date specified above, for the election.

No. 322/UP-LC/2022 (MLAs) (2) :- IN pursuance of Section 21, and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 22, of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission of India, in consultation with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, hereby: –

(i) designates the officer, specified in column (1) of the TABLE below, to be the Returning Officer; and

(ii) appoints the officer, specified in column (2) of the said Table, to be the Assistant Returning Officer to assist the Returning officer in the performance of his functions;

in respect of the biennial election to the Legislative Council of the State of Uttar Pradesh, by the members of Legislative Assembly of the State, to be held in pursuance of the Governor's notification published in the official Gazette of the State on 02nd June, 2022: -

(क) नाम िनद(cid:165)िशत करने क(cid:236) अि(cid:198)तम तारीख – 09 जून, 2022 (गु(cid:321)वार); (ख) नाम िनद(cid:165)शन क(cid:236) संवी(cid:177)ा क(cid:236) तारीख – 10 जून, 2022 (शु(cid:248)वार); (ग) अ(cid:203)यिथ(cid:170)ताएं वापस लेने क(cid:236) अि(cid:198)तम तारीख – 13 जून, 2022 (सोमवार); (घ) वह तारीख िजसको यिद आव(cid:212)यक ह(cid:242)आ तो मतदान होगा – 20 जून, 2022 (सोमवार); और (ड.) वह तारीख िजससे पूव(cid:170) िनवा(cid:170)चन स(cid:204)प(cid:301) करा िलया जाएगा – 22 जून, 2022 (बुधवार); िनयत करता है; और (आ) 09:00 बजे पूवा(cid:170)(cid:313) से 04:00 बजे अपरा(cid:313) तक का समय, उस समय के (cid:322)प म(cid:164) िनयत करता है िजसके दौरान यिद आव(cid:212)यक ह(cid:242)आ तो उ(cid:265) िविनिद(cid:170)(cid:310) तारीख को मतदान होगा।
