IN exercise of the powers under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1997 (U.P. Act no. 21 of 1997), read with rule 51-A of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, the Governor is pleased to give concession for a period of one year from the date of "Certificate of Deposit" in the motor vehicle tax under sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1997 of 15 per cent of one time tax up to fifteen years and under sub-section (2) and (2-A) of section 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1997 of 10 per cent of tax payable up to eight years on registration of new vehicle after purchasing against submission of "Certificate of Deposit" as defined in clause (c) of sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021.
