THE Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 671/XXIII-2–2023-70(SA.)-22, dated January 16, 2023 for general information :

WHEREAS, the State Government is of the opinion that a new public ferry is needed on the Gomti River at Saroj Badewar and Bhitari Ghat in district Jaunpur;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under clauses (c) and (d) of section 4 of the Northern India Ferries Act, 1878 (Act no. 17 of 1878), the Governor is pleased to establish, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette, a new public ferry on the Saroj Badewar and Bhitari Ghat in district Jaunpur within its limits as shown in the Schedule below;
Under section 6 of the aforesaid Act, the Governor is further pleased to direct that with effect from the aforesaid date, the immediate superintendence of the aforesaid public ferry at Saroj Badewar and Bhitari Ghat in district Jaunpur shall vest in the Superintending Engineer, Jaunpur-Ghazipur Circle, Lok Nirman Vibhag, Jaunpur.
