THE Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 62/XXIII-2–2023-124(SA)-22, dated February 2, 2023 for general information :

WHEREAS the State Government is of the opinion that a new public ferry is needed on the Rapti river at Ramnagar Kevatliya Ghat in district Gorakhpur;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under clauses (c) and (d) of section 4 of the Northern India Ferries Act, 1878 (Act no. 17 of 1878), the Governor is pleased to establish, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette, a new public ferry on the Ramnagar Kevatliya Ghat in district Gorakhpur within its limits as shown in the Schedule below;
Under section 6 of the aforesaid Act, the Governor is further pleased to direct that with effect from the aforesaid date, the immediate superintendence of the aforesaid public ferry at Ramnagar Kevatliya Ghat in district Gorakhpur shall vest in the Superintending Engineer, Gorakhpur Circle, Lok Nirman Vibhag, Gorakhpur.
