THE following draft rules which the Governor proposes to make in exercise of the powers under clause (h) of sub-section (2) of section 65 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 (Act no. 59 of 1988) read with section 211 of said Act and section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (Act no. 10 of 1897) with a view to amend the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1998 is hereby published as required under sub-section (1) of section 212 of the said Act of 1988 for all concerned and with view to invite objections and suggestions in respect thereof;
Objections and suggestions, if any, with respect to the proposed rules should be sent in writing addressed to the Vishesh Sachiv, Parivahan Anubhag-4, Uttar Pradesh Sachivalya, Lucknow. Only such objections and suggestions as are received within fifteen days from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette shall be taken into consideration;
The persons who file their objections and suggestions in writing may appear before Vishesh Sachiv, Uttar Pradesh Shasan, Parivahan Anubhag-4, Uttar Pradesh Sachivalya, Lucknow in his office room for hearing on April 26, 2023 at 12:00 P.M..

THE UTTAR PRADESH MOTOR VEHICLES (THIRTIETH AMENDMENT)
RULES, 2023
Short title and 1. (1) These rules may be called the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles (Thirtieth
commencement Amendment) Rules, 2023.
(2) It shall come into force with effect from the date of publication in the
official Gazette.

set out in Column-I below, the rule as set out in Column-II shall be substituted, namely:-

(vi) any electric Vehicle (EV) manufactured, purchased and registered in Uttar Pradesh in the fourth and fifth year of effective period of Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022 notified on October 14, 2022 covered under sub-rule (v).
