IN exercise of the powers under section 21 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act no. 2 of 1974), the Governor is pleased to appoint, from 4 May, 2023 upto 13 May, 2023 all Gazetted Officers and Subordinate Gazetted Officers of all departments of the State Government and all officers holding posts carrying the Pay Band-2 Rs. 9300-34800 (Grade Pay Rs. 4600) Level-7 and above in Local Authorities and Corporations or Bodies owned and controlled by the State Government, posted in the districts of Uttar Pradesh as Executive Magistrates to be known as Special Executive Magistrates and to confer on them all the powers of the Executive Magistrates as are conferrable under the said Code on such Executive Magistrates, to be exercised within the limits of respective districts in which they are for the time posted, to maintain law & order during Urban Body General Elections-2023.
