IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of Notification no. 02/2023/905/XXXVI-3–2023-01(Estb.)-2005, dated May 26, 2023:

IN exercise of the powers under cluase (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 3 read with clause (3) of sub-section (1) of Section 4 and cluase (a) of sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Minimum Wags Act, 1948 (Act no. 11 of 1948) and in supersession of notification no. 11/2022/1130/XXXVI-03–2022-01(Estb.)- 2005, dated 22 September, 2022, the Governor is pleased to fix and revise, with effect from the April 01, 2022, the minimum rates of wages payable to the employees employed in agriculture employment in the State of Uttar Pradesh.

2. The minimum wages may be paid in cash or, where so agreed by the employees, in kind or partly in cash and partly in kind, so however, that the total value of the wages shall in no case, be less than the minimum prescibed rates.
3. The hourly rates of wages shall not be less than 1/6 of the daily rates.
4. The minimum time-rate wages payable to adolescents and children shall not be less than time- rate wage admissible to an adult employee.
5. The rates of wages shall not in any way operate to the prejudice of any employee, i.e., if more rates of wages are being paid than those prescribed under this notification, they would continue to be paid and they would be deemed to be the minimum rate of wages prescribed under this notification.
