THE Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 388/XXIII-2–2023-36(SA.)-23, dated May 30, 2023 for general information :

WHEREAS the State Government is of the opinion that a new public ferry is needed on the Sharda River at Ramnagar Kala Ghat in district Lakhimpur Khiri;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under clauses (c) and (d) of Section 4 of the Northern India Ferries Act, 1878 (Act no. 17 of 1878), the Governor is pleased to establish, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette, a new public ferry on the Ramnagar Kala Ghat in district Lakhimpur Khiri within its limits as shown in the Schedule below;
Under section 6 of the aforesaid Act, the Governor is further pleased to direct that with effect from the aforesaid date, the immediate superintendence of the aforesaid public ferry at Ramnagar Kala Ghat in district Lakhimpur Khiri shall vest in the Superintending Engineer, Sitapur Circle, Lok Nirman Vibhag, Sitapur.
