THE Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 383/XXIII-2–2023-50(SA.)-22, dated April 18, 2023 for general information :

Dated Lucknow, April 18, 2023
WHEREAS the State Government is of the opinion that a new public ferry is needed on the Bansi River at Chauki Ghat in district Kushinagar;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under clauses (c) and (d) of Section 4 of the Northern India Ferries Act, 1878 (Act no. 17 of 1878), the Governor is pleased to establish, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette, a new public ferry on the Chauki Ghat in District Kushinagar within its limits as shown in the Schedule below;
Under section 6 of the aforesaid Act, the Governor is further pleased to direct that with effect from the aforesaid date, the immediate superintendence of the aforesaid public ferry at Chauki Ghat in district Kushinagar shall vest in the Superintending Engineer, Deoriya Circle, Lok Nirman Vibhag, Deoriya.
