IN exercise of the powers under section 2 of the United Provinces Mela Act, 1938 (U.P. Act no. 16 of 1938), the Governor is pleased to declare "Basant Panchmi Mela", held for five days from Tritiya to Saptami of Shukla Paksha in the month of Magh every year in District Ayodhya, as a provincial mela. All the provisions of the aforesaid Act shall come into operation during the said period in the area detailed in the Schedule below:-
