IN exercise of the powers under Section 21 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act no. 2 of 1974), the Governor of Uttar Pradesh for the purposes of maintenance of Law and Order and peaceful conduct of General Election for the Lok Sabha-2024 and by-election-2024 for the Legislative Assembly Constituencies 136-Dadraul (District-Shahjahanpur), 173-Lucknow East (District-Lucknow), 292-Gansdi (Ditrict-Balrampur) and 403-Duddhi (ST) (District-Sonbhadra), is pleased to appoint with effect from the date of announcement of election by the Election Commission of India till the Model Code of Conduct cease to be in operation, all Gazetted Officers and Subordinate Gazetted Officers of all departments of the State Government and all officers holding posts carrying the Pay Level-6, Rs. 35400-112400 (Previously Pay Band-2 Rs. 9300-34800, Pay Grade Rs. 4200) and above in Local Authorities and Corporations or Bodies owned and controlled by the State Government, posted in the all districts of Uttar Pradesh and who are deployed for the conduct of elections, as Executive Magistrates to be known as Special Executive Magistrates and to confer on them all the powers of the Executive Magistrates as are conferrable under the said Code on such Executive Magistrates, to be exercised within the limits of respective districts in which they are for the time being posted.
