IN exercise of the powers under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 (Act no. 2 of 1899), as amended from time to time in its application to Uttar Pradesh, read with section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (Act no. 10 of 1897), Hon'ble Governor is pleased to remit, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette, the stamp duty chargeable under clause (b) of Article 40 of Schedule 1-B of the said Act of 1899, on the mortgage deed of loan amount Rs. 12068 crore in respect of The project of Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited situated at Ghatampur, Kanpur Nagar.
