IN exercise of the powers under section 79 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (Act no. 49 of 2016) read with rule 21, 22 and 23 of the Uttar Pradesh Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, the Governor is pleased to appoint Prof. Himanshu Shekhar Jha to the post of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities as per the terms and conditions mentioned hereunder:-
(i) According to the rule 21 (2) of the aforesaid rules, Prof. Himanshu Shekhar Jha shall seek retirement from the service under the Central Government or a State Government if he is serving as such, before he joins as the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities;
(ii) According to the rule 23 (1) of the aforesaid rules, Prof. Himanshu Shekhar Jha shall be appointed as State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities for a period of three years from the date on which he assumes office;
(iii) Salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service of Prof. Himanshu Shekhar Jha as State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities shall be in accordance with the relevant provisions of the aforesaid rules.
