IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 107/2024/819/XXX-3–2024 dated September 9, 2024:

WHEREAS the Uttar Pradesh In land Waterways Authority Act, 2023 (U.P. Act no. 22 of 2023) was published in the official Gazette vide Notification no. 578/79-V-1-2023-1-ka-21-2023, dated 8th December, 2023;
AND WHEREAS provisions of the aforesaid Act have been brought into force with effect from the 8th day of December, 2023 vide Notification no. 16/2024/1101/XXX-4-2024-30-4099(099)/154/2023 dated 6th August, 2024 with the aim of promoting water transportation in the State of Uttar Pradesh;
mRrj çns'k vlk/kkj.k xtV] 9 flrEcj] 2024 3 NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the aforesaidAct, the Governor, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the official Gazette, is pleased to constitute an Authority for the purpose of promoting water transportation in the State of Uttar Pradesh, to be called "The Uttar Pradesh Inland Waterways Authority", composition of which shall be as below:-
| (i) | Either the Minister of Transport, Uttar Pradesh or an expert from amongst persons who have special knowledge of and professional experience in matters related to inland waterways, shipping and navigation ports, maritime affairs or in matters connected therewith as may be nominated or appointed by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh | Chairperson |
