IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of the Sanjay Gandhi Snatakottar Ayurvigyan Sansthan (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh, 2025 (Uttar Pradesh Adhyadesh Sankhya 2 of 2025) promulgated by the Governor. The Chikitsa Shiksha Anubhag-2 is administratively concerned with the said Ordinance.

[Promulgated by the Governor in the Seventy-Sixth Year of the Republic of India]
AN
ORDINANCE
further to amend the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1983.
WHEREAS the State Legislature is not in session and the Governor is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance:-
Short title and
1.(1) This Ordinance may be called the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of commencement Medical Sciences (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.
(2) It shall come into force with effect from the date of its publication in the
Official Gazette.
mRrj izns'k vlk/kkj.k xtV] 6 Qjojh] 2025 3 Insertion of new 2. In the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1983, section 12-A in after section 12, the following new section shall be inserted, namely:- U.P. Act No.30 of 1983
12-A. (1) The Director shall hold office for a term of five years
from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of
sixty-five years, whichever is earlier;
"Tenure of
(2) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Act, a Director
Service of who has not attained the age of sixty-five years may be granted an additional
Director
tenure not exceeding three years, by the Visitor:
Provided that the Director may by writing under his hand addressed
to the Visitor resign from his office, and shall cease to hold his office upon
the acceptance by the Visitor of such resignation. "
