IN exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to make the following rules with a view to amending the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department, Social Welfare Supervisor Service Rules, 1997.

THE UTTAR PRADESH SOCIAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT, SOCIAL WELFARE

SUPERVISOR SERVICE (FIRST AMENDEMENT) RULES, 2025

1.(1) These rules may be called the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department, Short title and commencement Social Welfare Supervisor Service (First Amendment) Rules, 2025.

(2) They shall come into force at once.

2. In the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department, Social Welfare Supervisor

Service Rules, 1997 hereinafter referred to as the said rules, in rule 3 after existing sub-

rule (a) and (h), the following sub-rule (aa) and (hh) shall be inserted, namely:-

a. (aa) "ACT" means The Uttar Pradesh Public Services (Reservation for Scheduled

Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1994;

h. (hh) "other backward classes of citizens" means the backward classes of citizens

specified in schedule I of the Act, as amended from time to time.

3. In the said rules, for existing rule-4 set out in column-1 below, the rule as set out

in column-2 shall be substituted, namely:-
