PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION TO CARRY OUT SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
The State Government intends to acquire the following lands in consultation with the concerned Panchayat/Municipality/Municipal Corporation, as the case may be, at village/ward level, in the affected area and carry out a Social Impact Assessment study for public purpose. The study shall be undertaken as per the provisions of Section 4 of The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (Act no. 30 of 2013).
• Name of Requiring body: Civil Aviation Department, Uttar Pradesh.
• Purpose of proposed acquisition of land: For expansion of Palia Airport located in District Lakhimpur Kheri.
• Organization to undertake the study: Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar.

airport at Palia will lead to development of infrastructure in the area, employment opportunities will increase, manufacturing and exports will be encouraged. In addition the expansion of Airport will facilitate air traffic leading to a rapid growth in tourism.
• The project area and the affected areas: The affected area is in Tehsil Palia of District Lakhimpur Kheri as per above in 03 villages and about 44.9283 hectares of land is involved with 29 houses situated on Government land.
• Whether consent of Gram Sabhas and/or land owners is required?: According to the provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Uttar Pradesh) Rules, 2016.
• The date of completion of SIA: 15 October, 2025.
