The provisions of section 356 of the aforesaid Act extend to any person accused of an offence under the Indian Penal Code, 2023 or any other law for the time being in force under sub-section (8) of section 356 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023.

IN exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (8) of Section 356 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Act no. 46 of 2023), the Governor, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, is pleased to extend the provisions of Section 356 of the aforesaid Act to a person accused of an offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Act no. 45 of 2023) or any other law for the time being in force in respect of whom a proclamation has been published under sub-section (1) of Section 84 of the aforesaid Act.
