IN exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to make the following rules with a view to amending the Uttar Pradesh Environment (Gazetted) Service Rules, 1995 :
UTTAR PRADESH ENVIRONMENT (GAZETTED) SERVICE
(FIRST AMENDMENT) RULES, 2025
1. (1) These rules may be called The Uttar Pradesh Environment (Gazetted) Short title and Commencement
Service (First Amendment) Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall be deemed to have come into force, with effect from the 16th day of December 2011.
2. In the Uttar Pradesh Environment (Gazetted) Service Rules, 1995, in Amendment of Rule 5 (2)
rule 5, for existing sub rule (2), set out in Column-1 below, the rule as set out in Column-2, shall be substituted, namely:&

| Source of Recruitment | 5-(2) Deputy Director (i) Fifty per cent by direct recruitment through the commission. (ii) fifty percent by promotion through the Selection Committee from amongst substantively appointed Assistant Director/ Scientific officer who have completed seven years service as such on the first day of the years of recruitment: Provided that if no suitable person is available for promotion, an officer of a Government Department who possesses the qualification prescribed for the post, may be appointed on deputation till availability of a suitable person for promotion. | 5-(2) The posts of Deputy Directors shall be filled by Hundred per cent promotion from amongst substantively appointed Assistant Directors, who have completed seven years of service as such on the first day of the years of recruitment: Provided that if no suitable Persons are available for promotion, an officer of the Government Department, who possess the prescribed qualifications for the post may be kept on deputation until a suitable person is available for promotion. |
