IN pursuance of the directives issued by the ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, vide Letter no. 7/10/2025 (Part)-M&G dated 25th November, 2025, regarding the standardisation of nomenclature of the official residences of Governors, the Governor is hereby pleased to accord sanction to rename the official residence of the Governor, hitherto known as "Raj Bhavan", as "Jan Bhavan".
Consequently, the official residence of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh shall, with immediate effect, be designated and addressed as "Jan Bhavan" for all official and statutory purposes.
