IN exercise of the powers conferred under Clause (iii) of Rule 8 of the Rules framed under the Provisions of the Census Act, 1948 (Act no.37 of 1948) and in supersession of the notification no. G.I.-64/III-2019-12(12)/2018, dated 19th November, 2019, the Governor is pleased to order that the work pertaining to first phase of Census of India, 2027 i.e. Houselisting & Housing Census will take place in the State of Uttar Pradesh during the period from 22nd May to 20th June, 2026, being a specified period of thirty days. There shall also be an option for self-enumeration which shall be conducted in fifteen days time period just before the start of house to house Houselisting & Housing Census operations of thirty days.
