THE Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of Government notification no. 3/2026/173/ XCIV-2&2026-700(08)-2026, dated February 5, 2026 :

IN exercise of the powers under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of Section 9 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 (Act no. 2 of 1899), as amended from time to time in its application to the State of Uttar Pradesh, the Governor is pleased to remit, from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the stamp duty chargeable in relation to the instruments mentioned in Column-4 of the Schedule below, for the Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Growth and Rural Enterprises Ecosystem Strengthening Project (UPAGREES) to the companies mentioned in Column-1 of the said Schedule for the purposes described in Column-2, to the extent mentioned in Column-3 of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE

terms and conditions :–

1. Irrevocable bank guarantee equivalent to the amount of the stamp duty remission, in favour of the District Magistrate of the concerned district, shall be presented before the Registering Officer at the time of registration of such deed. The validity period of the bank guarantee should be minimum up to more than one year than the eligible investment period for the above companies. At the start of the commercial operation within the admissible period, bank guarantee will be released.

2. The provisions mentioned in this notification shall remain in force from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette till the effective period of the UPAGREES project. In case, the said project comes to end, by any means, the remission granted under this notification shall be considered to be revoked by itself from the date of the withdrawal of the said project.
