IN exercise of the powers conferred by Section 15 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Act no. 46 of 2023), the Governor of Uttar Pradesh may appoint any Police Officer not below the rank of Superintendent of Police or equivalent, for a particular area or for the performance of particular functions, to be known as a Special Executive Magistrate, and may confer on such Special Executive Magistrate such of the powers as are conferrable under this Sanhita on an Executive Magistrate, as the Governor may deem fit.
