IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of Government notification no. 29/2026/991/XCIV-1-2026-312(114)-2024, dated May 4, 2026:

IN exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(3) of Section 3 of the Registration Act, 1908 (Act no. XVI of 1908), read with Section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (Act no. X of 1897), and read with Section 24-A of the Court Fees Act, 1870 (Act no. VII of 1870), and in supersession of all previous notifications issued in this behalf, the Governor is pleased to form the following offices of Assistant Inspector General of Registration and Assistant Commissioner of Stamps to establish the offices of Assistant Inspector General of Registration and Assistant Commissioner of Stamps as mentioned in Column-2 of the Schedule below, and to prescribe the territorial limits of each office as mentioned in Column-3 of the Schedule below.

2-This notification shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

Three offices of the Assistant Inspector General of Registration and Assistant Commissioner of Stamps for pairvi of suits, administrative work, and audit/stamps, shall be situated in the head office of the Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps each at Prayagraj and in the Camp office at Lucknow.

Four offices of the Assistant Inspector General of Registration and Assistant Commissioner of Stamps shall be situated in the offices of the Additional Inspector General of Registration and Additional Commissioner of Stamps (Departmental) for Internal Technical Examination Cell each for Eastern Uttar Pradesh at Prayagraj and Western Uttar Pradesh at Ghaziabad.

One office of the Assistant Inspector General of Registration and Assistant Commissioner of Stamps shall be situated in the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Registration and Deputy Commissioner of Stamps of Gautam Budha Nagar, for the cases of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and other works assigned by the Deputy Inspector General of Registration and Deputy Commissioner of stamps of Gautam Budha Nagar.
