IN pursuance of provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 1131/LXXXI-

4–2026 dated June 2, 2026 :

WHEREAS there exists a water body known as "Parigawa Talab" measuring an area of 63.042 hectares situated in Tehsil Shohratgarh, District Siddharthnagar, detailed description whereof is given in the Schedules below, which is considered to be critically significant for its ecosystem services and biodiversity values for the local communities and society at large;

AND WHEREAS, the aforesaid water body is a part of our cultural heritage; provides a wide range of ecosystem services such as water storage, water purification, flood mitigation, erosion control, aquifer recharge, micro-climate regulation, aesthetic enhancement of landscapes; and is important for environmental conservation, enrichment and development of adequate flora and fauna, ecology, landscape and humanitarian values;

mRrj izns'k vlk/kkj.k xtV] 2 twu] 2026 7 AND WHEREAS, draft notification declaring the aforesaid water body as a "Wetland" was published vide Government notification no. 646/81-4-2026 dated April 2, 2026 as required under sub-rule (3) of Rule 7 of the Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules, 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the "said rules"), for the information of the general public and with a view of inviting objections in respect thereof within 60 days from the date of publication of the said notification in the Official Gazette;

AND WHEREAS, no objection, in respect of the aforesaid draft notification, has been received within the stipulated period;

AND WHEREAS, considering the extent of ecological and biological diversity of "Parigawa Talab" situated in District Siddharthnagar, it is necessary to make the ecological character and ecological importance thereof enduring and it is also necessary to regulate the developmental activities in "Parigawa Talab" and its Zone of Influence for the benefit of local communities and society at large;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under sub-rule (3) of Rule 7 of the said rules, the Governor, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, is pleased to declare the area of "Parigawa Talab", detailed description whereof is given in the Schedules below, as wetland which will now onwards be known as "Parigawa Talab Wetland", District Siddharthnagar.

The boundary and description of the area included under the Parigawa Talab Wetland is mentioned in Schedule-I of this notification.

Details of the zone of influence (ZOI) of the Parigawa Talab Wetland are mentioned in Schedule-II of this notification.

Description of prohibited and regulated activities in Parigawa Talab Wetland and its zone of influence are mentioned in Schedule-III of this notification.

Description of permitted activities in Parigawa Talab Wetland and its zone of influence are mentioned in Schedule-IV of this notification.
